Sling Media’s ‘SlingPlayer for Mobile’ and Slingbox Recognized as Best Products of 2009

Foster City, Calif., Dec. 28, 2009 — Sling Media, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of EchoStar Corporation (NASDAQ: SATS), announced today that its SlingPlayer Mobile application has been listed on the iTunes app store as one of the top selling apps in 2009. Out of more than 100,000 apps available on iTunes, the SlingPlayer Mobile app, which lets users watch their home TV on their iPhone via a WiFi connection, is listed among the top 60 apps in the Top Grossing Apps category.

In addition, the Slingbox and the SlingPlayer Mobile app have been selected by editors at several major national and technology publications as one of the top products of 2009 and one of the top products of the decade.

1. Time Magazine – “Top 10 iPhone Apps of 2009” recognizes SlingPlayer Mobile App

TIME.com says, “TV junkies, rejoice. You can now leave the confines of home — or country — without ever missing an episode of Glee. If you have a Slingbox installed at home, the SlingPlayer Mobile app lets you watch live TV, or whatever you've got saved on your DVR, on your iPhone, as long as you're connected to a wireless network.”

2. MacWorld.com and iTunes – “iTunes Rewind 2009 …Best Media of the Year” recognizes SlingPlayer Mobile as one of the Top Selling Apps out of the more than 100,000 apps on iTunes.

MacWorld says, “iTunes made a distinction between the year’s best and best-selling apps and games. … while the top-selling apps included MLB.com At Bat, QuickOffice Mobile Office Suite, and SlingPlayer Mobile. “
